Recently, I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time with Sony’s new LinkBuds Fit the Japanese brand’s latest noise isolating earphones (they also support Hi-Res Audio which allows you to better appreciate High-Resolution Audio tracks in outstanding quality). LinkBuds Fit are designed with comfort in mind, with the aptly named “Fitting Supporters”, which secure the earphone in place within the ear. The tips of the earphones are tapered to sit just in front of the ear canal, and despite having worn them for long periods of time, I experienced no kind of discomfort whatsoever.

The LinkBuds Fit carry over a range of features from their LinkBuds S predecessor, however, my favourite feature on the LinkBuds Fit is the new “Background Music Effect”, which converts your audio into a more diffused sound. It’s similar to Sony’s Spatial Audio but is designed to make whatever music your playing sound like bar or café background music, and it works incredibly well. This mode allows you to create a little bit more of a relaxed, atmospheric sound which is great when you’re trying to focus on something else like work or studying.

Another great feature is the “Automatic Ambient Sound”. This allows the earphones to adjust the noise cancelling automatically based on the amount of external noise around you. If the environment is noisy, it will increase, and in quieter environments it will allow more audio pass-through. These are some of the features which set Sony’s newest LinkBuds Fit apart from the previous gen LinkBuds S.

It's fair to say that I spent good time with the LinkBuds Fit, and I’m happy to report that they’re a stellar upgrade from the LinkBuds S. Music sounded clean and distortion-free, thanks in no small part to Sony’s unique driver unit “Dynamic Driver X”, which delivers jaw-dropping levels of richness in vocals and beautifully enhanced finer nuances. Design-wise, the glossy case looks great and comes in various colours, with the White and Green colourways featuring a unique marbled pattern, meaning that no two sets of LinkBuds Fit (in these colours) are the same.
